Mitsotakis makes war-like threats toward Turkey: 'Our army will intervene if necessary'

Mitsotakis made scandalous statements regarding the Exclusive Economic Zone and continental shelf issues.

Stating that there is no possibility of a solution with Turkey on these two issues, Greek Prime Minister Mitsotakis signaled that the army could be deployed again if necessary.

According to the report in Medyaradar, regarding the disputes over the Exclusive Economic Zone and continental shelf, Mitsotakis stated that he does not see any possibility of a solution with Turkey, saying, "I have witnessed times in the past when our army had to intervene. We will do it again if necessary, but I hope there will be no need for such a situation."

“TURKEY IS INCREASING ITS INFLUENCE IN THE EASTERN MEDITERRANEAN”

While expressing that he is aware that Turkey's views regarding the Blue Homeland have not changed and that Greece is maintaining its position in this process, Mitsotakis said in his speech, "In recent years, Turkey has been increasing its influence in the Eastern Mediterranean. For us, the only issue of dispute is the determination of the continental shelf and Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) boundaries in the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean. We have to protect our continental shelf."

STATEMENT REGARDING DEVELOPMENTS IN SYRIA

Speaking about the developments in Syria, Mitsotakis commented, "The changes taking place in the Middle East are of great importance. We have a role here due to our proximity, our role as protectors of the Orthodox element, and being on the front line of the refugee crisis."

TARGETED TURKEY ON THE CYPRUS ISSUE

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis had made another scandalous statement in recent days, saying, "The Greek Junta of the Colonels opened the door to the national tragedy in Cyprus 50 years ago. The invasion and occupation have been continuing for 50 years. The wound opened 50 years ago continues to bleed. The north of Cyprus remains a prisoner of occupation. We do not accept faits accomplis. Our only goal is a unified Cyprus, a bizonal, bicommunal state without occupation armies (Turkish military) and without outdated guarantees (Turkey's guarantee)."
