More than 7,700 earthquakes occurred in the last 10 days: Decision from Greece regarding Santorini Island

Santorini, Greece's famous tourist island, has joined the regions where a state of emergency has been declared due to increased seismic activity. The General Secretariat for Civil Protection of Greece announced that a state of emergency will be in effect on the island, which has been experiencing intense tremors in recent days, until March 1.

Expert teams dispatched to the region from the capital, Athens, have begun inspecting the structural integrity of buildings. While officials have warned of the risk of landslides due to the continuous earthquakes, they have called on the island's residents to remain cautious.

It was reported that Santorini has been shaken by more than 7,700 small earthquakes within the last 10 days. Additional military, police, and fire department units have been sent to the island to take precautions against a potential major earthquake. Officials stated that the situation is being closely monitored and that all necessary measures will be taken.
