'Mossad Agent' executed in Tehran: Linked to assassination

A person alleged to have been spying for the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad was executed by hanging in Iran this morning. According to information provided by the Mizan Online news agency, which is affiliated with the Iranian judiciary, the individual named Mohsen Langarneshin was stated to have supported Mossad activities within Iran and was described as a "high-level agent."

Langarneshin was suspected of having played a role in the assassination of Colonel Hassan Sayyad Khodai, a member of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, who lost his life in an armed attack in the capital, Tehran, in 2022.

Iranian judicial authorities also alleged that Langarneshin was not only linked to Mossad but also transferred certain classified military and security information within Iran to foreign intelligence services.

While the execution decision was reached as a result of closed-door hearings in Iran, no statement was made regarding whether Langarneshin was tried in public or whether he had the right to a defense.

Iran has long accused Israel of sabotage and assassination operations carried out within the country, and specifically claims that Mossad is behind the attacks targeting members of the Revolutionary Guard.
