The mpox virus, for which the World Health Organization has declared a global health emergency, has also been detected in Pakistan.
Pakistan has announced that the mpox virus has been detected in 3 passengers arriving from the United Arab Emirates. In a statement issued by Pakistan, it was announced that the patients were identified at the airport.
No statement was made regarding which variants were found in the patients detected in Pakistan, which has previously reported mpox cases.
Flight operations continue from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where the mpox virus began to spread and where more than 15 thousand cases have been seen this year, to Turkey.
