Musk asks federal employees to answer 'that' question: Those who do not respond will be fired
Elon Musk has imposed a mandatory return-to-office policy for U.S. government employees. While it was announced that those who do not comply with the directive will be fired, he also issued an instruction via social media requiring hundreds of thousands of federal employees to report their activities from the past week.
U.S. President Donald Trump's advisor Elon Musk has issued a stern warning to federal employees. Musk stated that employees who do not return to the office will be placed on administrative leave and that those who do not submit their job descriptions will be considered to have resigned. This decision has caused confusion in many government agencies.
In a statement on the social media platform X, Musk announced that thousands of civil servants who ignored President Trump's return-to-work order have been terminated. In this process, Musk, who is tasked with reducing the federal budget, asked employees to submit a summary containing their job descriptions.
According to what was communicated to the employees, federal civil servants who do not respond to the email as requested will be fired. Musk announced the decision by sharing photos of himself with a chainsaw.

EMPLOYEE STATUS UNCERTAIN
While employees of the Department of Justice, the Federal Communications Commission, and the Drug Enforcement Administration were urged to comply with Musk's request, some other ministries instructed their employees not to respond to this demand. The Department of Health and Human Services initially called for compliance with Musk's directive but later suspended the process.
In a post on the X platform, Musk warned employees by saying, 'Those who do not take this email seriously will soon be continuing their careers elsewhere.'
The Trump administration's decisions have made the financial future of federal employees uncertain. It has been reported that more than 20 thousand employees have been fired and 75 thousand employees have been offered a voluntary resignation package.
The Trump administration announced that 1,600 employees would be laid off from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and that the vast majority of the remaining staff would be placed on leave.
