Musk's DOGE department causes crisis in the US, high-level bureaucrat resigns: Claims that 'the economy could suffer serious damage'

The Associated Press (AP) announced that DOGE has been granted authorization to access the Treasury Department's payment systems. With this decision, DOGE has gained broad access rights to significant taxpayer data.

The Washington Post suggested that Lebryk's resignation is directly linked to DOGE's request for access to the data.

MUSK ACCUSES THE TREASURY DEPARTMENT

In a post on his social media platform X, Musk claimed that the Treasury was making payments even to groups committing fraud. However, he did not provide any evidence to support this claim.

The Trump administration recently renamed the US Digital Service to the US DOGE Service (USDS). The executive order emphasized that the goal is to modernize government software and increase efficiency.

DOGE was established to increase efficiency in the federal bureaucracy and make budget cuts. Initially planned to be led by Elon Musk and former Republican politician Vivek Ramaswamy, the institution came under Musk's full control following Ramaswamy's departure.
