NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg calls for 'ammunition' for Ukraine

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg held a press conference at NATO headquarters regarding the Alliance's 2023 annual report.

Stoltenberg stated that it is not Ukraine's courage that is running out, but its ammunition, and assessed that, "NATO allies are not providing enough ammunition to Ukraine. The consequences of this are reflected on the battlefield every day."

"IT IS AN URGENT NEED"

Stoltenberg continued as follows:

"Therefore, it is an urgent need for allies to take the necessary decisions to provide more ammunition to Ukraine and to take action. This is my message to all capitals."

Emphasizing that the US, Canada, and Europe all need to do more, Stoltenberg said, "We have the economies to provide Ukraine with what it needs. This is a matter of political will to take decisions and prioritize support for Ukraine. Therefore, we need decisions to invest more in the defense industry."

COMMENT ON THE BLACK SEA

Stoltenberg stated that one of Ukraine's greatest victories was pushing Russia back in the Black Sea, noting that this was achieved by working closely with Turkey, Romania, and Bulgaria.

Stoltenberg underscored that this success was due to the capabilities of the Ukrainian military as well as the advanced weapons provided by NATO allies.
