Netanyahu: Operations will continue

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced that attacks will continue despite US President Donald Trump's statement that hostilities in Lebanon would be halted.

Netanyahu stated, "I spoke with President Trump this evening and told him that if Hezbollah does not stop attacking our cities and citizens, Israel will strike targets in Beirut. Our position has not changed. In parallel, the Israeli army will continue its operations in southern Lebanon as planned."

"Israel will not attack them, and they will not attack Israel"

Following a phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, US President Donald Trump had said, "I had a very productive conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. No troops will be sent to Beirut, and the troops that were on their way have already been turned back."

Stating that he also had a very good conversation with Hezbollah through high-level representatives, Trump added, "They have also agreed to stop all hostilities. Israel will not attack them, and they will not attack Israel."
