Netanyahu: The road to peace is long, the conflict with Hezbollah has not ended

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made a statement regarding the 10-day ceasefire that has come into effect between Israel and Lebanon.

Netanyahu stated, "I would like to remind you that for the first time in 43 years, Israeli representatives are holding direct talks with Lebanese representatives. The road to peace is still long, but we have set out on this path."

Regarding his decision to accept the ceasefire with Lebanon, the Israeli Prime Minister said, "One of our hands holds a weapon, while the other reaches out for peace."

Netanyahu said that at the request of US President Donald Trump, they gave a chance to the opportunity to develop a joint diplomatic and military solution with the Lebanese government.

Netanyahu said, "We have one more goal, and that is the liquidation of Hezbollah. I tell you again with all sincerity that this is not something that can happen in one day."

Netanyahu claimed that the attacks carried out by Hezbollah with anti-tank weapons have been largely eliminated and that 90 percent of Hezbollah's rockets have been destroyed, while adding, "Frankly, we have not finished our job yet. We have various plans regarding the remaining rocket and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) threats, the details of which I cannot discuss."
