Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the 81st UN General Assembly. The Israeli Prime Minister's address to the UN General Assembly began with protests, following a visit that caused streets in New York to be closed to traffic and led to large-scale protests where more than 100 people were detained.
As Netanyahu, the primary architect of the genocide policies carried out for nearly three years in the Gaza Strip, where many Palestinians have lost their lives, entered the hall to deliver his speech, many officials from the delegations left the room. Additionally, many delegates in the hall booed Netanyahu. After the delegates left the hall in large groups, Netanyahu criticized those who had departed.
Netanyahu, who limited his US visit to a few hours, argued in his speech that Israel had "eliminated Iran's nuclear capacity." Reacting to accusations of "colonialism" against Israel due to its occupation activities spreading to neighboring countries, Netanyahu said, "And who are those accusing us? Among them are people from Britain and France. These are the ones who invented this term. Their colonies covered the whole world. Leave us alone."
Regarding the joint attacks launched against Iran together with the US on February 28, Netanyahu stated, "Together with our great American friends, we crushed Iran's army, navy, air force, and nuclear facilities."
Defending the violent settlers who attempt to terrorize Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and force them from their homes, Netanyahu characterized the aggressors as "a handful of young criminals consisting of 150 people who throw stones and cut down olive trees."
"We have had no greater partner than Trump"
Netanyahu said, "We will continue to win because we have no other choice. We have had no greater partner in this war we are fighting than US President Donald Trump. I thank him. I thank him for his courageous leadership. He has bravely faced a great threat to America, Israel, and the world."
Despite evidence consisting of massacres in Gaza, the systematic destruction of living conditions, mass starvation and deprivation of basic necessities, forced displacement, and statements by high-level Israeli officials themselves, Netanyahu rejected the genocide accusations at the UN General Assembly.
Targeting New York City Council Member Zohran Mamdani, who made efforts to have him arrested by the New York police during his US visit, Netanyahu accused Mamdani of being antisemitic.
In his speech, where he claimed that the Iranian administration fears a potential popular uprising in the country and that this is the reason for internet outages, Netanyahu also asserted that the Iranian people would one day overthrow the regime. Netanyahu said, "It is only a matter of time before something incredible happens in Iran."
