Netanyahu's son 'likes' post about a 'coup'
Yair Netanyahu, the son of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has 'liked' an X post accusing Israeli Chief of General Staff Herzi Halevi of having prior knowledge of Hamas's October 7 attacks and attempting a "de facto" military coup.
According to a report by The Times of Israel, the X post liked by Netanyahu's son Yair stated, "We were in the middle of a military coup led by Herzi Halevi, who did not inform the Prime Minister about the attack that would take place on the morning of Simchat Torah (holiday) on October 7."
The social media user's X post included the claim that "The coup has neither ended nor been completed," while also alleging that Chief of General Staff Halevi and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant blocked National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir from entering a military base.
National Security Minister Ben-Gvir had claimed that his planned visit to an Israeli military base was canceled by Halevi and Gallant.
According to a report by Ynet, a statement from the Israeli military and the Defense Ministry office indicated that the visit was postponed due to time constraints and that Ben-Gvir was asked to schedule another date.
The allegations against Herzi in the social media post liked by Yair Netanyahu were first brought to the agenda on Israel's Channel 12 television station.
In November, Yair Netanyahu had shared posts on his Telegram account blaming the Israel Defense Forces, Shin Bet, and the Supreme Court regarding the crossing of 3,000 Hamas members from Gaza into Israel on October 7.
