Netanyahu's statement on the killing of Khamenei: 'It will not escalate, it will end it'
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed that the killing of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei would end the conflict between the two countries, stating, "It will not escalate this conflict, it will end the conflict."
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made statements to the US press regarding the ongoing conflict with Iran since June 13. When asked about reports that US President Donald Trump had vetoed Israel's plan to kill Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Netanyahu claimed that killing Khamenei would end the conflicts between the two countries, stating, "It will not escalate this conflict, it will end the conflict."
Netanyahu said, "We have had a half-century of conflict spread by this regime that terrorizes everyone in the Middle East, bombs the Aramco oil fields in Saudi Arabia, and spreads terrorism, destruction, and sabotage everywhere. What Iran wants is 'war forever,' and they are bringing us to the brink of nuclear war. In fact, what Israel is doing is preventing this, putting an end to this aggression, and we can only do this by standing up against the forces of evil."
When asked whether Israel would actually target Khamenei, Netanyahu replied, "We are doing what we have to do." Netanyahu added, "I will not go into details, but we have targeted their best nuclear scientists."
"TODAY TEL AVIV, TOMORROW NEW YORK"
Stating that it is in the US's interest to support Israel, which is trying to eliminate Iran's nuclear program, Netanyahu said, "Today Tel Aviv, tomorrow New York. Look, I understand 'America First.' I don't understand 'Death to America.' That is what these people want. They chant 'Death to America.' So we are doing something in the service of humanity, and this is a war of good against evil. America is on the side of good, it should be on the side of good, and it is. That is what President Trump is doing, and I deeply appreciate his support."
"THEY WANT TO CONTINUE THE FAKE TALKS"
When asked about reports that Iran, through Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, had asked Trump to use his influence over Israel for an immediate ceasefire agreement in exchange for Iran showing flexibility in nuclear negotiations, Netanyahu said, "I am not surprised at all. I mean, they want to continue these fake talks where they lie, cheat, and stall the US. We have very solid information on this. They want to continue developing their nuclear weapons and building the arsenals of mass ballistic missiles they fire at our people."
