New deadline extension from the US for the sale of TikTok

US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order delaying the implementation of the law that would ban TikTok in the country if it is not sold to a US firm. With this decision, the sale process for TikTok has been extended once again.

Trump had previously postponed the law requiring TikTok to be sold to a US firm several times. He first issued a 75-day extension when he took office, and subsequently extended this period further in April and June.

The US President stated that a group of major companies is interested in the sale of TikTok and that they are nearing the end of this process. Trump said, "We have reached an agreement regarding TikTok. We have made a deal with China, and I hope this agreement will be beneficial for both countries." He also noted that he would clarify the details in his upcoming meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Trump added that they would soon announce the identities of the companies interested in purchasing TikTok.
