New decision from Donald Trump regarding the 'Houthis'! The Joe Biden administration had removed them from the list...
US President Donald Trump has re-added the organization known as 'Ansarallah' in Yemen, also known as the Houthis, to the list of 'foreign terrorist organizations,' from which it had been removed by the Joe Biden administration.
US President Donald Trump, who has signed numerous executive orders since his first day in office, announced that he has placed the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen back on the list of "terrorist organizations."
In his statement, Trump noted that he had added the Houthis to the list in his final days in office in 2021, but that the Biden administration had removed them from the list a few months after taking office.
Arguing that Iran spreads "terrorist activities" throughout the region through various means and that the organization known as "Ansarallah", or the Houthis, in Yemen is used in this context, Trump stated that the organization must now be added back to the list, particularly due to its attacks on ships in the Red Sea.
According to Trump's decree, the US Department of State will officially re-add the Houthis to the list of terrorist organizations within 30 days.
Former US Secretary of State Antony Blinken had announced that they were removing the Ansarallah organization from the list of foreign terrorist organizations, effective February 16, 2021. It was stated that the decision in question was taken due to the extremely deteriorating humanitarian situation in Yemen.
The Houthis had previously been added to the list of foreign terrorist organizations during the final days of the Donald Trump administration.
