New development in federal tax case against US President Biden's son

A major development has occurred in the federal tax case where Hunter Biden, the son of US President Joe Biden, is accused of evading 1.4 million dollars in taxes.

In a surprise decision, Hunter Biden pleaded guilty to all 9 charges brought against him within the scope of the case.

Los Angeles Federal Court Judge Mark Scarsi, who stated that Biden could face up to 17 years in prison and fines of up to 450 thousand dollars, announced that the sentence will be handed down on December 16.

DOES NOT WANT TO FACE TRIAL

In the US, where defendants in criminal cases can receive lighter sentences by reaching plea agreements with prosecutors, it is known that this method is preferred by individuals who do not want to face trial. It is stated that Hunter Biden aims to prevent details that could be used as political leverage against his father and the Democratic Party ahead of the presidential elections on November 5 from emerging during weeks of hearings.

ACCUSED OF TAX EVASION

Hunter Biden, who is known to have previously struggled with drug and alcohol addiction, is accused of evading 1.4 million dollars in taxes from 2016 to 2019, despite spending large sums on narcotics, sex workers, luxury hotels, and expensive personal items. It is known that the charges against Hunter Biden also focus on his other business dealings, including his work with the Ukrainian natural gas company Burisma during the period when his father, Joe Biden, was vice president.
