New statement from the FBI regarding the assassination attempt on Trump: 'The object that struck his ear...'

The FBI has issued a written statement regarding the ongoing debate over whether the object that struck Trump was a bullet or something else.

The statement included the following: "What struck former President Trump's ear was a bullet, whether whole or fragmented, fired from the deceased shooter's weapon."

The FBI's statement is considered the most definitive explanation provided by law enforcement to date regarding Trump's injury.

FBI Director Christopher Wray had stated during a U.S. House Judiciary Committee hearing on July 24, "There are questions about whether it was a bullet or shrapnel or glass that caused his ear injury."

Trump had also reacted to Wray on his Truth Social account, posting, "FBI Director Christopher Wray told Congress yesterday that he wasn’t sure if I was hit by shrapnel, glass, or a bullet. (I don’t know, he never checked!)."

Trump's White House physician, Ronny Jackson, also addressed the controversy over whether Trump was injured by a bullet or another object during the assassination attempt, stating, "There is absolutely no evidence that it was anything other than a bullet."

ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT ON DONALD TRUMP

Former U.S. President Trump was subjected to an armed attack while speaking at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13. One person attending the rally died, two were injured, and the U.S. Secret Service announced that the attacker had been neutralized.

The FBI defined the attack as an assassination attempt and, following investigations, announced that the person who carried out the attempt and was killed at the scene was 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks.
