New statement from Russia on Kursk: 56 civilians killed in Ukrainian attacks over 7-week period

The Russian Foreign Ministry has issued a new statement regarding the toll of the attacks carried out by Ukraine in the border region of Kursk.

The statement said, 'At least 56 civilians have lost their lives and 266 civilians have been injured in Ukraine's attacks in the Kursk region over a 7-week period.'

The statement reiterated that 131 thousand civilians have been forced to leave their homes in the region, while it was alleged that between 70 and 120 civilians are being held captive by Ukraine in the town of Sudzha in Kursk.

There has been no official statement from Ukraine yet.

Ukraine's operations in Russia's Kursk region continue

UKRAINE HAD INVADED KURSK

On August 6, Ukraine launched the largest foreign attack on Russia since World War II, crossing the border and entering the western Kursk region, supported by heavy weapons including drones and Western-made arms.

Kyiv had claimed to have captured approximately 100 settlements and more than 1,300 square kilometers of territory in Kursk.
