North Korea's nuclear weapon reminder to the US: 'Their hysterical reactions will come to an end'

North Korea has reiterated that it will not end its nuclear weapons program, reacting to military exercises conducted by the US and its allies around the Korean Peninsula. In a statement released through North Korea's state news agency, Western countries were described as 'gangsters,' and it was reported that the US and its allies are also responsible for the wars in the Middle East and Ukraine.

The statement emphasized that its nuclear weapons are not a promotional tool or a subject for negotiation, asserting that these weapons are vital for the country's sovereignty and the safety of its people. North Korea recalled that last year, NATO and EU member countries held military exercises near North Korea based on nuclear war scenarios. Korean officials stated that 'such provocative actions have further strengthened the country's nuclear power.'

The statement, which rejected demands to end the nuclear weapons program, included the following remarks:

'Our nuclear weapons are an indispensable real war deterrent that will block threats to regional peace. As enemy forces become accustomed to our country's nuclear power, their hysterical reactions will come to an end.'

North Korea's statement came immediately after a meeting between US President Donald Trump and Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba. The two leaders had stated that they would cooperate on the denuclearization of North Korea.

While North Korea's statement increased regional tensions, it also brought the international community's concerns regarding nuclear proliferation back to the agenda.

Describing the US-led Western powers as "gangster-like," North Korea accused its 'enemies' of disrupting world peace. The statement said, 'It is known that the Ukraine crisis has deepened and the cycle of war in the Middle East has repeated due to the geopolitical interests of the US and the West.'

Criticizing statements from NATO and the European Union (EU) targeting the country's nuclear weapons, North Korea declared, 'They are demanding North Korea's disarmament with outdated rhetoric.'
