Norway opens investigation into devices exploded in Lebanon: Who is behind the attack?
Norway is investigating allegations that one of its citizens played a role in the supply of devices that were exploded in Lebanon.
Following allegations that a Bulgaria-based company named Norta Global, which mediated the procurement of pagers exploded in Lebanon, was managed by a Norwegian citizen, Norwegian authorities have launched an investigation into the matter.
The Norwegian Police, in a statement to NRK radio, addressed the claim that the Bulgaria-based firm Norta Global, registered to a Norwegian national, played a role in the supply of the pagers that were exploded in Lebanon.
The police stated that they have launched an investigation into the 'information that has been brought forward' and are continuing to evaluate potential measures.
IT WAS CLAIMED THAT THE BULGARIAN FIRM WAS A SUPPLIER
It had been suggested that the Bulgaria-based firm named Norta Global, registered to a Norwegian individual, was also part of the supply chain.
Reports in the Hungarian press emphasized that both BAC Consulting and Norta Global were 'shell companies' with no offices, facilities, or staff other than their CEOs.
The Bulgarian State Agency for National Security (DANS) stated that an investigation was being conducted into the matter, sharing the information that 'no customs operations indicating that the products in question passed through Bulgaria have been detected.'
PAGERS AND RADIOS WERE EXPLODED
On September 17, simultaneous explosions occurred in pagers used by Hezbollah members in Lebanon. 12 people, including two children, lost their lives in the explosions, and 2,323 people were injured.
As a result of numerous radios being exploded in the country on September 18, 25 people died and more than 608 people were injured.
Lebanese authorities held Israel responsible for the incident. There has been no statement from Israel regarding the matter yet.
Clashes that have occasionally intensified between the parties have been occurring on the Israel-Lebanon border since October 8, 2023.
