Norway to lift defense industry embargo against Turkey: In effect since 2019
Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Keçeli announced that Norway has decided to lift the defense industry restrictions it imposed on Turkey in 2019.

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Öncü Keçeli reported that Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held a phone conversation with his Norwegian counterpart Espen Barth. During the call, Barth informed Fidan that Norway would be lifting economic restrictions on Turkey.
At the end of the conversation, Barth conveyed to Fidan that Norway has decided to lift the defense industry restrictions it has been applying to Turkey since 2019.
According to Keçeli, Foreign Minister Fidan told Barth that the decision was welcomed by Turkey.
Fidan also reminded Barth that such restrictions are not in line with the spirit of the alliance.
