Number of Palestinians detained by Israel in the West Bank rises to 7,170

The Palestinian Prisoners' Society and the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs, affiliated with the Palestine Liberation Organization, stated in a joint announcement that the Israeli army continues its raids in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

It was reported that Israeli soldiers have detained 18 more Palestinians in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of detainees to 7,170.

The statement noted that among the 18 newly detained Palestinians, one is a woman and two are children, and pointed out that this figure also includes those who were released after being detained.

The statement indicated that the detention operations were concentrated in the town of Beit Rima in Ramallah, and that Palestinians were also detained in the cities of Jericho, Hebron, Nablus, and East Jerusalem.

HOMES DAMAGED

The statement further emphasized that Israeli forces assaulted Palestinians and damaged homes during the raids.

Since October 7, 2023, when the Israeli army launched its offensive on the Gaza Strip, there has been an increase in detentions, raids, and attacks against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.
