Number of Palestinians killed rises to 25,900
The number of Palestinians killed in the Israeli army's months-long attacks on the Gaza Strip has risen by 1,280 in the last week to 25,900.
A statement from the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza provided information regarding the attacks that Israel launched on the Gaza Strip 111 days ago and has been carrying out intensively.
It was stated that 200 Palestinians lost their lives and 370 people were injured in 21 massacres committed by Israel in the last 24 hours.
It was noted that the number of Palestinians killed in the attacks on the blockaded Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, has increased by 1,280 in the last week to 25,900, while the number of injured has risen to 64,110.
HOSPITALS UNDER BLOCKADE
The statement expressed that Israel is committing acts of genocide in shelters belonging to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), which it claims are safe, and that it has placed hospitals in Khan Yunis under blockade and is obstructing the movement of ambulances.
It was noted that the International Committee of the Red Cross and United Nations (UN) institutions have been contacted to protect the hospitals in Khan Yunis, to allow medical teams to work, and to facilitate the operations of ambulances.
The statement pointed out that Israel's massacre against thousands of starving people waiting for humanitarian aid at the Kuwait roundabout in Gaza resulted in the deaths of 20 people and the injury of 150 others, and that the death toll could rise further.
MEDICAL AID DOES NOT MEET NEEDS
The statement, which mentioned that medical aid is still entering Gaza in a limited manner and is not suitable for the basic needs of the hospitals, called on international organizations to provide medicines and medical supplies needed for emergency rooms, intensive care units, operating rooms, incubators, and for cancer and blood patients.
The statement also called on the International Committee of the Red Cross and UN institutions to protect hospitals, meet their medicine, food, and fuel needs, and exert pressure to visit and secure the release of medical teams detained by Israel.
The statement further indicated that 7,000 wounded and sick people in Gaza must be treated abroad to save their lives.
