Official statement on the 'German officers' audio recordings' released by Russia. A leak that could spark war

Russian politician Medvedev made statements on his social media account regarding the leak of an audio recording featuring conversations among German air force officers about whether Taurus missiles could destroy the Crimean Bridge to support Ukraine, and claimed that Germany was preparing for war with Russia.

Following the publication by Russian media on Friday of recordings of a discussion among high-ranking German military officials regarding the shipment of weapons to Ukraine, a new statement has come from Germany. 

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius stated, "This recording is being used to destabilize and unsettle us," adding that he hopes Putin will not succeed. 

RESULTS OF MILITARY INVESTIGATION AWAITED

Stating that the published recordings are part of an intelligence war waged by Putin, Pistorius expressed that he was not aware of any other leaks within the military. Pistorius added that he would wait for the results of the military investigation before making any decisions regarding the incident.

On the other hand, the Russian Foreign Ministry stated on social media, "We are waiting for an explanation from Germany."

Russian media had published recordings of a discussion among high-ranking German military officials regarding the shipment of weapons to Ukraine. In a statement made today by the German Ministry of Defense, it was announced that a large-scale investigation had been launched and all necessary steps were being taken.

Following the incident, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz stated that the leaking of the audio recordings was a "very serious" matter, adding, "This matter is now being clarified very carefully, very intensively, and very quickly."

STATEMENTS IN THE RECORDINGS

Russia Today (RT) Editor-in-Chief Margarita Simonyan had published the 30-minute audio recording of the German officers.

The audio recording included a discussion among high-ranking German Air Force personnel about whether Taurus missiles could technically destroy the Crimean Bridge, which Russia built on the Crimean Peninsula, which it illegally annexed.
