Oil facility targeted in Iranian missile attack on Haifa

Oil facility targeted in Iranian missile attack on Haifa

Iran has targeted one of the region's largest oil refineries, located in Israel's strategic port city of Haifa, with missiles. A massive fire broke out at the facility following the attack, and a thick layer of smoke covered the sky. While firefighting teams continue to intervene in the flames, it was reported that the facility sustained heavy damage.

POWER CUTS

Simultaneous with the attack, widespread power outages occurred throughout Haifa and surrounding settlements. Authorities announced that electricity could not be provided to a large part of the city due to damage to energy lines. While security measures in the region have been raised to the highest level, the attack is expected to directly affect global oil prices.

IRAN'S LARGEST NATURAL GAS FACILITY HIT

On the other hand, yesterday, US and Israeli forces targeted oil refineries and the South Pars natural gas facilities located in the city of Asaluyeh in Iran's Bushehr province. In the attacks, the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth refineries in Asaluyeh were hit. Fires had broken out at the struck facilities.

It was reported that the third and sixth phases of the South Pars natural gas field were targeted in the attacks on the field. Iranian officials had announced that the fire in the region had been brought under control.

Following the developments, Tehran had targeted a series of energy facilities in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar.

US-ISRAEL ATTACKS ON IRAN

Israel and the US launched a military attack on Iran on February 28, while negotiations were ongoing between the Tehran and Washington administrations. Iran responded with attacks on targets it identified in some regional countries, primarily Qatar, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Bahrain, where US bases are located, as well as Israel. In the US-Israeli attacks, many high-level officials, including Iranian leader Ali Khamenei, were killed. According to Iranian officials, the death toll in the US-Israeli attacks has exceeded 1,348, and the number of injured has surpassed 17,000.
