While Israel continues its occupation of southern regions of Lebanon despite the new ceasefire declared between the parties yesterday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that an Israeli soldier was killed as a result of an attack carried out by Hezbollah.

The soldier killed was identified as 21-year-old Captain Eitan Shmuel Lemberg.

It was noted that Lemberg was killed in an anti-tank missile attack on an Israeli tank north of the Litani River in Lebanon.

The IDF announced that air and artillery strikes were carried out against Hezbollah infrastructure following the attack.

Katz had announced that the occupation in Lebanon would continue

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz stated today that despite the declaration of a new ceasefire yesterday, the Israeli army would continue its attacks in Lebanon for the time being and would not withdraw from the country.

Katz stated that the Israeli army would continue to remain in the vast regions of southern Lebanon that it occupies as part of the area defined as a buffer zone, which was established by the Israeli government to protect Israeli settlements in the north of the country.
