One person wins 'Mega Millions' lottery in the US: Will receive $1.13 billion

It has been announced that a person from the state of New Jersey has won the approximately $1.13 billion "Mega Millions" lottery in the US. The winning numbers for the draw, which had been rolling over for about 4 months, were 7, 11, 22, 29, 38, and 4.

According to CNN, officials reported that the "Mega Millions" lottery, which awarded the fifth-largest jackpot in US history, has found its winner.

Ticket holders from 13 different regions of the country matched the first 5 numbers drawn, winning a prize of at least $1 million. In New York, one person also won $2 million.

The winner of the grand prize will receive the full $1.13 billion if they accept the prize in annual payments, or $537.5 million if they choose a lump-sum payment.

The "Mega Millions," which is played in 45 US states, the capital Washington, and the Virgin Islands, was last won by an individual on December 8, 2023.

The largest lottery jackpots in the country's history were the Powerball lotteries of $2.04 billion in November 2022 and $1.586 billion in January 2016.
