Open threat from Trump: 'If there is an assassination, we will bomb Iran like never before'

US President Donald Trump, in a statement to the New York Post, said that he is preparing for the possibility of Iran planning an assassination attempt and has issued the necessary orders. Trump emphasized that if the Iranian administration were to make such an attempt, the consequences would be extremely severe.

In the interview, Trump stated that he has long been a target of Tehran, saying, "If there is an assassination attempt against me from Iran, I have given instructions for the country to be bombed in a way that has never been seen before."

Recently, intelligence allegations regarding a potential assassination plot against Trump obtained by Israel have also come to the fore. Trump expressed that he does not believe Iran has a new plan against him, but noted that he has been at the top of their list for years.

As tensions between the US and Iran have escalated again following mutual attacks in the Strait of Hormuz last week, the events have increased concerns in the region. It was also recalled that Iran placed Trump directly on its target list following the death of General Qasem Soleimani, who was killed in a US-led attack in 2020.

It was reported that anti-Trump slogans were chanted and calls for revenge for Soleimani were made during the funeral ceremony of the former Iranian leader, who lost his life in the US attack.
