The U.S. Department of Justice has announced that more than 1 million additional documents potentially linked to the investigation of billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, who was accused of running a sex trafficking ring involving underage girls and was found dead in prison, have been accessed.

The U.S. Department of Justice, regarding theinvestigation intobillionaire Jeffrey Epstein, who was accused ofestablishing a sex trafficking ring targeting underage girls and was found dead in prison,has announced a significant developmentshared the development.

In a statement by the Department of Justice,itwas stated that, according to information obtained from the New York Southern DistrictAttorney's Officeand the FBI,more than 1 million additional documents potentially related to the Epstein casehave been accessed.

The Department stated that the documents were obtained from relevant agencies for review under the Epstein Files Transparency Act,regulations, and court orders.

Inthestatement, it was noted, "Our attorneys are workingday and night to make the necessary legal redactions to protect victims.We aim to release the documents as soon aswe will publish them. Due to the volume of the content, this process may take several more weeks. The Department will continue to act in full compliance with federal laws and the directive of U.S. President Donald Trump regarding the release of the files," it was stated.
