Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has surpassed Jeff Bezos to become the world's second-richest person after Elon Musk, with a net worth of 206.2 billion dollars according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. A 68 percent rise in Meta shares has increased Zuckerberg's wealth by 78 billion dollars since the beginning of the year.
Meta CEO and Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg has surpassed Jeff Bezos to become the world's second-richest person with a net worth of 206.2 billion dollars on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
While former Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos's net worth remained at 205.1 billion dollars, this wealth, which Zuckerberg has achieved through his 13 percent stake in Meta, has moved him into the position of the second-richest person after Tesla CEO Elon Musk.
Meta shares closed at a record high of 582.77 dollars on Thursday. This marks an increase of approximately 68 percent compared to when the shares were trading at 346.29 dollars in January.
Zuckerberg's net worth has increased by 78 billion dollars since the beginning of the year, making him the biggest gainer on the Bloomberg Index, which tracks the 500 richest people.
Zuckerberg currently ranks behind Elon Musk, who is the world's richest person with a lead of approximately 50 billion dollars.
