Pakistan reacts to US sanctions decision!

Pakistan Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch stated that similar sanctions had been imposed in the past without evidence regarding the US decision to sanction 4 companies for allegedly supplying materials to the country's ballistic missile program, and that objective mechanisms should be established between the parties to prevent this.

Pakistan Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Baloch stated that they did not have detailed information regarding the latest US sanctions decision, noting that in the past, commercial entities had been placed on sanctions lists without proof of their involvement with the country's ballistic missile program.

Baloch emphasized that objective mechanisms must be established between the parties to prevent technology initiatives necessary for socioeconomic development from being placed on sanctions lists due to erroneous determinations.

Rejecting the use of export controls with a political approach, Baloch stated, "It is well known that the same decision-makers who claim to be strictly committed to the goal of non-proliferation of nuclear weapons exempt some countries from licensing requirements for advanced defense technologies."

Baloch assessed that "double standards" reduce the credibility of non-proliferation regimes and increase military power imbalances on a regional and global scale.

The US Department of State had previously imposed sanctions on 4 companies based in Belarus and China on the grounds that they supplied materials used in Pakistan's ballistic missile program.
