Pakistan Senate calls on Afghanistan to 'end hostile acts'

As clashes between Pakistan and Afghanistan intensified yesterday evening, the Pakistani Senate approved a resolution regarding the Taliban administration in Afghanistan.

The resolution, adopted in the Senate—the upper house of the Pakistani Parliament—strongly condemned attacks from Afghanistan against Pakistan and emphasized that any threat to the country's national security and sovereignty would be met with a "strong, proportionate, and decisive" response.

The text noted deep disappointment that, despite Pakistan's expectations of mutual goodwill, it continues to face hostile rhetoric, cross-border violations, and "terrorist elements operating from Afghan soil."

The resolution further called on the Taliban administration to immediately end all hostile activities and to comply with its international obligations and commitments to peaceful coexistence in the region.
