Statement from Pakistani Foreign Minister Dar regarding the talks
Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar addressed the mediation efforts initiated between the US and Iran that had reached a stalemate, stating, "We hope that the Islamabad talks will conclude very soon."
Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met with ambassadors and diplomatic delegations from foreign countries. In his speech at the meeting, Dar touched upon the mediation efforts initiated between the US and Iran that had reached a stalemate.
Stating that he hopes Pakistan's mediation efforts to end the US-Iran conflict will reach success as soon as possible, Dar emphasized that this is a necessity for the region and the entire world.
Using the phrase, "What has happened so far has already significantly negatively affected the global economy," Dar stated that Pakistan is actively working to bring the US and Iran to the negotiating table to resolve their disputes peacefully.
Stating that he has held meetings with approximately 120 of his counterparts worldwide since the start of the US-Iran war, Dar noted that these meetings reflect Pakistan's seriousness in seeking to end the conflict between the US and Iran.
Conveying that the first round of talks held between the US and Iran in the capital, Islamabad, between April 10-11 allowed for progress to be made between the parties, Dar said, "We hope that the Islamabad talks will ultimately, and hopefully very soon, conclude."
Stating that Pakistan has been in constant contact with Iran and the US for a permanent ceasefire since the implementation of the ceasefire, Dar pointed out that for the first time in 47 years, Pakistan has succeeded in bringing the US and Iran to the table for direct talks.
Stating that the entire process aims to end the conflict in the Middle East, Dar announced that Pakistan continues to act as a bridge between the two sides.
