Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas condemns Iran, not the US and Israel

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas stated during a telephone conversation with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman that he strongly condemns Iran's recent attacks on neighboring Arab countries. 

Abbas also thanked the Crown Prince for Saudi Arabia's support for the Palestinian people.

HEAVY CRITICISM OF HAMAS

During a meeting held in the West Bank last year, Abbas targeted Hamas, using harsh language by calling them "sons of dogs." These remarks were met with backlash from Hamas, and Hamas Political Bureau member Basem Naim stated that Abbas was "using derogatory language against his own people." Naim criticized Abbas for his "habit of blaming his people for the crimes of the occupiers and the ongoing oppression."

STATEMENT FROM THE GREEK PRIME MINISTER'S OFFICE

Following his conversation with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Abbas also held a telephone call with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. In a statement issued by the Greek Prime Minister's Office, it was noted that developments in Iran, Lebanon, and the Middle East were discussed during the call. Emphasizing that tensions in the region must not escalate, Mitsotakis stated that he is following the situation in the West Bank with concern. Furthermore, the necessity of taking measures to ensure that the flow of humanitarian aid to Gaza is not interrupted was emphasized.
