As the conflict between Israel and Hamas continues, Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh has announced his resignation.

Speaking at the government's weekly press conference in the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah, Shtayyeh stated that he has submitted his resignation to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

Shtayyeh noted that he had communicated his decision to resign to Abbas verbally on Tuesday, February 20.

Shtayyeh stated that in the context of developments in the Gaza Strip, there is a need for new arrangements at the government level in the coming period.

Pointing out that there are efforts to turn the Palestinian Authority into an administrative tool, Shtayyeh stated that the Palestinian Authority will continue its struggle against Israel's practices.

Shtayyeh underscored that they will continue to struggle against Israel until a Palestinian state is established.
