Palestinian Rima Hassan to run in European Parliament elections
Palestinian Rima Hassan will be a candidate in the European Parliament elections. Born in the Neirab Refugee Camp in Syria, Hassan moved to France in the early 2000s.
The candidacy of Rima Hassan, a French national of Palestinian descent born in Syria, has been confirmed for this year's European Parliament (EP) elections.
According to information on the website of the opposition La France Insoumise (LFI) party in France, the LFI's candidate list for the EP elections was approved following a vote held online by party members on March 15.
7TH ON THE LIST
With this, Hassan's candidacy for member of parliament in the EP elections, to be held from June 6-9, has been finalized as she is placed 7th on the list.
Born in the Neirab Refugee Camp in Syria, Hassan arrived in France in the early 2000s.
Having studied law, Hassan founded the Refugee Camps Observatory in 2019.
