Party at priest's house ends in death

A man was found dead last Saturday in a priest's home in the town of Drobin, located in Poland's Masovian Voivodeship.

An autopsy performed yesterday determined that the individual died due to circulatory and respiratory failure, while it was stated that the exact cause of death would be determined following toxicology and histopathology tests.

REMOVED FROM DUTY

The death at the rectory became a national news item in Poland following details that began to emerge in the media. According to these reports, the 29-year-old deceased had come to visit the priest serving at the pw. Sw. Stanislawa Biskupa i Meczennika Church on Friday and spent the night at the priest's home.

The pair partied at the house until morning. The unnamed priest left the house on Saturday to perform his duties at the church.

A woman who came to clean the priest's house in the afternoon found the guest who had arrived the previous day lying motionless in the bedroom. While the cleaning woman immediately notified the police, a doctor who arrived at the address determined that the individual had passed away.

While a large number of erectile dysfunction drugs were found next to the individual in the bedroom, the Plock Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into the incident. The priest, who spent the night partying with a man, was immediately removed from his duties by the regional diocese and evicted from the house after the incident came to light.

Investigations by judicial authorities and the regional diocese into the incident are ongoing.
