Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has shared his new proposals regarding a peace agreement with Azerbaijan. Pashinyan stated that the determination and demarcation of borders should be carried out on the basis of the Alma-Ata Declaration.
In a video he released, Pashinyan explained what the order should look like following a peace agreement, noting that Armenia's surface area of 29,743 square kilometers should be taken as the basis. Regarding the issue of enclaves and exclaves, he proposed a "land swap of exactly equal size" between the two countries.
Pashinyan emphasized that there should be no enclaves or exclaves left on either side of the border. Stating that transportation and communication lines should also be open, Pashinyan expressed that this should not be limited only to the Zangezur Corridor project, referred to as TRIPP.
The Armenian Prime Minister noted that all communication lines should be operational, including connections from Armenia to Armenia through Azerbaijani territory, and from Azerbaijan to Azerbaijan through Armenian territory.
Pashinyan also said that the two countries should not make territorial claims against each other. He stated that the parties should not disturb each other over issues such as Karabakh, Gardman, Shirvan, Nakhchivan, and "Western Azerbaijan."
Touching upon his meetings with the President of Azerbaijan in Turkmenistan, Pashinyan stated that after these contacts, he had a "preliminary impression" that there was an opportunity to shape peace in this direction. Pashinyan expressed that they would work to turn this possibility into reality in the coming period.
