Passenger plane loses wheel during takeoff
A wheel fell off a United Airlines passenger plane in the US as it was taking off from Los Angeles International Airport.
Boeing passenger planes, which are currently under safety review in the US, have been involved in another incident. A wheel fell off a United Airlines Boeing 757-200 passenger plane as it was taking off from Los Angeles International Airport.
There were no deaths or injuries in the incident, and the plane completed its flight and landed safely in Denver.
In a statement issued by United Airlines, it was noted that there were 174 passengers and 7 crew members on board, adding, "We are investigating what caused this incident." The US Federal Aviation Administration has launched an investigation into the matter.
Meanwhile, last March, a wheel fell off a United Airlines Boeing 777 passenger plane as it was taking off from San Francisco International Airport bound for Japan, damaging several vehicles in a parking lot.
