Passenger train derails in South Africa: Many injured
A train accident occurred yesterday evening in the Western Cape province of the Republic of South Africa. Two carriages of a passenger train traveling from Cape Town to the town of Wellington derailed.
25 people were injured as a result of the train derailing near Dal Josafat Station. In a statement made by Western Cape Metrorail railway services, it was stated that the 25 passengers injured in the accident were taken to surrounding hospitals by ambulance and that there were no fatalities.
While fire and police teams were dispatched to the scene, an investigation into the accident has been launched.
