Pentagon clarifies conspiracy theories about Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift, who ranked fifth on Forbes' 'Most Powerful Women' list, has recently become one of the most talked-about names in the world. It was claimed that the singer was a "Pentagon project." A statement on the matter has come from the Pentagon.
US singer Taylor Swift was named Time magazine's 2023 Person of the Year for the records she broke with her songs, the buzz created by her world tour, making cinema history with her concert film, her significant impact on the US economy, and many other achievements.
It was claimed that the 34-year-old singer was a "Pentagon project." Jesse Watters, host of the "Jesse Watters Primetime" program on the US-based news channel Fox News, asked, "Have you ever wondered how Taylor Swift became so successful?"
STRIKING CLAIM ON LIVE BROADCAST
The host stated, "About 4 years ago, the Pentagon's psychological operations unit decided to turn Taylor Swift into an asset." Watters shared some footage during the broadcast. In the footage, a speaker at a 2019 NATO meeting cites Swift as an example of a figure with global influence.
Watters said, "This is real. The Pentagon's psychological operations unit suggested to NATO that Taylor Swift be used to combat disinformation."
STATEMENT ISSUED
Following this news, the Pentagon issued a statement. US Department of Defense spokesperson Sabrina Singh, making a reference to the singer's hit track "Shake It Off," said, "As for this conspiracy theory, we are going to shake it off."
