Pentagon releases notable report on 'UFOs' and 'aliens'
The U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon) has reported that it found no evidence pointing to the existence of UFOs or aliens in a report examining data collected since 1945 on what the government calls 'unidentified anomalous phenomena' (UAP).
The All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), which operates under the Pentagon, has published a report compiling UAP investigations conducted in the U.S. since 1945.
The report states, "Reviews conducted at all levels of classification have shown that UFO reports are mostly the result of misidentifications of ordinary objects and natural phenomena."
Those claims rejected
The report, which notes that historical records contain no evidence regarding the existence of aliens, also rejected claims that the U.S. government and private firms have developed technology belonging to aliens through reverse engineering.
Stating that no evidence pointing to the existence of UFOs or aliens was found, the report noted that the abundance of books, films, internet, and social media content on the subject has influenced public opinion, increasing belief in the existence of UAPs among some segments of society.
The Pentagon stated that a second volume of the report, which Congress requested to be prepared, is currently in the preparation process and will evaluate recent UAP reports.
