According to a report in New Scientist magazine, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced that for the first time, the H5N1 virus has been transmitted to a human from a mammal.
The CDC stated that the person who came into contact with an infected dairy cow in the state of Texas had contracted bird flu.
It was noted that the patient only experienced eye inflammation and is in good condition.
