Pezeshkian emphasizes diplomacy for peace
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that there are no winners in war, expressing that conflicts must be prevented through diplomacy.
In a speech at the Ministry of Petroleum, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian expressed his belief in diplomacy, emphasizing that war benefits no one and has no winners. Pezeshkian said, "We are trying to prevent the recurrence of war and conflict by strengthening diplomacy."
Following Israel's attacks on June 13 targeting Iran's nuclear facilities and military leaders, Iran suffered significant losses. In these attacks, the Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, the Commander-in-Chief of the Revolutionary Guards, several high-ranking commanders, and 9 nuclear scientists lost their lives. The civilian death toll was reported as 1,100, while the number of injured reached 5,600.

In retaliation for these attacks, Iran launched missile strikes against Israel. According to Israeli sources, 28 people were killed and 1,272 people were injured in these attacks.
With the open support of the US for Israel, attacks were carried out on June 22 against Iran's nuclear facilities in Natanz, Fordo, and Isfahan. In retaliation for these attacks, Iran struck the US Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar on June 23.
US President Donald Trump announced on June 24 that a ceasefire had been reached between Iran and Israel. Pezeshkian stated that they are trying to ensure unity and solidarity domestically through a national consensus government approach and that they aim to establish friendly relations with neighboring countries.
