Pezeshkian to Spain: There are still sensitive consciences in the Western world
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated, "The responsible stance displayed by the Spanish government in the face of the Zionist-American coalition's clear human rights violations and military attacks against various countries, including Iran, shows that there are still sensitive consciences in the Western world."
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian made a statement regarding Spain's position on the joint US and Israeli attacks against Iran. In a statement on his social media account, Pezeshkian conveyed his thanks to Spanish officials for their stance regarding the aforementioned attacks. Pezeshkian said, "The responsible stance displayed by the Spanish government in the face of the Zionist-American coalition's clear human rights violations and military attacks against various countries, including Iran, shows that there are still sensitive consciences and ethical values in the Western world. I thank the Spanish authorities for their position."
Sanchez: "You cannot play Russian roulette with the fate of millions"
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, in his first speech following US President Donald Trump's threat to cut off trade relations with Spain because it did not allow the Rota and Moron military bases to be used in attacks against Iran, had said, "This is how the great catastrophes of humanity begin. You cannot play Russian roulette with the fate of millions."
Referring to Ukraine, Gaza, and the Iraq War that took place more than 20 years ago, Sanchez had stated, "I am against repeating the mistakes of the past. My government's position can be summarized as follows: No to war."
Pointing out that Trump's threats would not force Madrid to support the US-Israeli war in Iran, Sanchez had declared, "We will not be complicit in something that is bad for the world or contrary to our values and interests just to avoid retaliation from someone. We say no to the violation of international law that protects us all. We say no to the assumption that the world's problems can only be solved through conflicts fought with bombs. We say no to repeating the mistakes of the past. We say no to war."
