Philadelphia City Commissioner Bluestein: We will count ballots much faster than in 2020
Philadelphia City Commissioner Seth Bluestein stated, "We began pre-canvassing our mail-in ballots as soon as the polls opened at 7:00 AM today. We will count the ballots much faster than we did in 2020."
Voting for the US Presidential election is continuing at full speed. In Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, City Commissioner Seth Bluestein made a statement regarding the elections, saying, "We began pre-canvassing our mail-in ballots as soon as the polls opened at 7:00 AM today, and we will count the ballots much faster than we did in 2020."
Noting that many people are choosing to vote in person at polling centers rather than by mail, which will help the process move faster, Bluestein said, "The city purchased additional equipment to help open envelopes faster, and we have more staff than we have had in the past. It is difficult to predict when people will wake up and know the result in Pennsylvania, but what I can say is that it will not take four days until the Saturday after the election for us to count the vast majority of mail-in ballots. It will happen much faster." Bluestein added that if everything continues to go smoothly, the result could be known by midday Wednesday.
Expressing full confidence in election security and the results, Bluestein stated, "The elections in Philadelphia and across the state will be free, fair, secure, and safe. I have complete confidence in our ability to conduct the elections in a fair manner."
