The bodies of 13 people have been recovered so far from the wreckage of the Saurya Airlines 9N-AME (CRJ 200) aircraft, which crashed while taking off from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu, Nepal. There were a total of 19 people on board the plane, which was headed to Pokhara.

The plane's 37-year-old pilot, Manish Shakya, was rescued from the wreckage and taken to a nearby hospital in Sinamangal for treatment. TIA information officer Gyanendra Bhul told The Himalayan newspaper that the plane was carrying the airline's technical staff.

Smoke was seen rising from the plane following the crash. Police teams and firefighters were dispatched to the scene for rescue operations.
