Plane malfunction on Trump's journey to Davos: He gave this response to the Erdoğan question
US President Donald Trump's plane, which experienced a technical glitch on the way to Davos, returned to a base near Washington for security reasons. The White House announced that the trip would continue on another aircraft.
Air Force One, carrying US President Donald Trump to attend the World Economic Forum in Davos, changed its route and returned to the US due to a technical issue detected during the flight.
In a statement provided by the White House, it was noted that a minor electrical fault was detected in the aircraft shortly after takeoff, and security procedures were subsequently activated.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced that the plane landed at Joint Base Andrews near Washington as a "precautionary measure" and that Trump would continue his journey to Davos on another presidential aircraft.
Members of the press on board also reported that all lights in the cabin went out briefly for a short time after takeoff.
It is known that US presidents use two different Air Force One aircraft interchangeably for security and operational reasons.
Before departing for Davos, Trump had told reporters, "This will be an interesting trip. I don't know what's going to happen, but you are well represented."
RESPONSE TO ERDOĞAN QUESTION
Responding to questions about his phone call with AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan while leaving the White House, Trump remarked, "It was a very good phone call."
