Plot for '3D gun' attack in the UK

Three men in the UK have been found guilty of planning a neo-Nazi attack on an Islamic education center using a weapon they produced on a 3D printer.

The defendants, 24-year-olds Brogan Stewart and Marco Pitzettu, and 33-year-old Christopher Ringrose, attended the hearing at Westminster Magistrates' Court today via video link.

The three individuals, who were taken into custody on February 20, were found guilty of jointly preparing for a 'terrorist act'.

According to a report by BBC Turkish, the three were accused of preparing for an attack by obtaining instructions on how to manufacture firearms using a 3D printer. It is alleged that the three men produced an FGC-9 semi-automatic firearm and identified potential targets for an attack.

Prosecutor Mark Luckett stated earlier this month at Westminster Magistrates' Court that the defendants had discussed a plan to attack an Islamic education center in Leeds, England, and people they identified as "victims".

THEY WERE MEMBERS OF A GROUP PROVIDING MILITARY TRAINING

It is alleged that the defendants were active in a Telegram messaging group that provided advice on military training and weapons in preparation for terrorist acts.

It was stated in court that searches conducted at the defendants' homes last week uncovered an FGC-9 semi-automatic firearm produced with a 3D printer, various weapons collected from the market, knives, and Nazi symbols.

In recent years, the number of incidents and arrests linked to 3D-printed firearms has been increasing in the United Kingdom. Authorities announced that they had seized three such weapons in 2021 and 17 in 2022. Weapons produced with a 3D printer were found in Scotland for the first time at the beginning of this year.
