Pope calls for peace during Christmas Mass
Pope Francis held a Christmas Mass at St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican. The service was attended by 6,500 people. During the Mass, the Pope also called for peace regarding the conflict between Israel and Hamas.

The Pope stated that the sound of weapons continues in the lands where Jesus was born, noting that the children who have died are "little Jesuses."
Stating that he is "begging for the weapons to fall silent" between the parties, the Pope said, "Tonight, our hearts are in Bethlehem, where the Prince of Peace is once again rejected by the futile logic of war."
