US Ambassador to Ankara Tom Barrack met with Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein in Istanbul. Sharing a post on his social media account following the meeting held at the Tersane on the shores of the Golden Horn, Barrack emphasized Turkey's position in regional and global diplomacy.
Barrack stated that the meeting addressed relations between Iraq, the US, and Turkey, as well as regional issues. The US Ambassador said, "It is an honor to host Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein at the Tersane on the shores of the Golden Horn. We discussed the close and enduring alliance between Iraq, the United States, and Turkey, and the regional obstacles that face us all, which no nation can overcome alone."

Touching upon the historical significance of Istanbul in his post, Barrack drew attention to Fatih Sultan Mehmet's transformation of Istanbul into the center of a world empire. Barrack remarked, "Turkey continues to be the place where the world comes to find one another today."
Referring to the diplomatic experience of Iraqi Minister Hussein, Barrack said, "It was an honor to listen to the wisdom and grace of one of the region's most respected diplomats and to be a part of this conversation." The meeting was announced with the message that Istanbul is one of the prominent centers for regional contacts.
